All work and no play makes jack a dull boy. The students at St. Xavier’s College A’Bad are prepared for life , not just their careers. Holistic Education is inculcated in them through various Extra-Curricular Activities :
Students of SXC are offered innumerable opportunities for developing an all-round personality in college. Once every year the College organises Culfest- a cultural festival of song, dance, drama, and a large variety of lively and interesting competitions. This is a time for students to showcase their cultural talents. Culfest provides Xavierites an excellent opportunity to develop their talents for organising as well as participating in events on a large scale.
SACC is committed to offering the latest techniques and the best practices available to develop top quality athletes. The College also contributes towards national development by offering various opportunities through NCC. The NCC recruits students of both genders for their Army, Navy and Air Wings. Many of our cadets have received high honours in each of these including the Governor’s Gold Medal, and representation at National Camps or the Republic Day Parade in Delhi or have gone abroad on the Youth Exchange Programme. All able-bodied First Year students MUST serve in any one between NCC, NSS, Tarumitra or participate in Sports, Cultural Activities or PT.
The NSS provides students with training in leadership and excellent opportunity to develop the human side of their personality. It puts them in touch with their less fortunate brothers and sisters, the poor, the sick, the suffering. NSS has been organizing a variety of programmes on and off campus, such as blood donation camps, campus cleaning, helping the nearby slum children in education, helping the visually challenged students in preparing for examination through preparing audio cassettes etc. Every year the NSS organises 3 SHARP (Service to Humanity And Retrieve People) camps for its students.
